Christine Melgar Taylor - Director Christine Melgar Taylor has been teaching ballet in this area since 1971. She is an alumnus of the School of American Ballet in NYC, and attended NYU School of Theater Arts. Her early training began at the New Jersey School of Ballet, The American Ballet Theatre School and the School of American Ballet.A student of the world-renowned and Vaganova trained, Alexandra Danilova, Taylor shares her Russian training and teaching knowledge with each new generation of dancers. A performing member of the original North Jersey Ballet Company, Taylor danced with the Edwin Williams Modern Dance Company when she was a student at NYU, and was a former adjunct faculty in the dance department at Centenary College. She is the author of “Teaching the Ballet Class,” and “Keep It Going,” both published by Dance Teacher Now. Her students have contracts with Colorado Ballet, Nebraska Ballet, Suzanne Farrell Ballet, and the American Repertory Ballet. Taylor has taught ballet in this area for over thirty years. |
