New Jersey State Vaganova Workshop

Ages 7 - 18 Audition/video required.

During a period of political unrest many of the worlds most famous dancers defected from Russia and came to America to train a new generation in the traditions of this 250 year old style. One of those ballerina's was Alexandra Danilova. One of her students was….. Christine Taylor, Executive Director of the New Jersey State Vaganova Workshop.

Behind the classical façade of a long, elegant building in the heart of St. Petersburg, Russia, there is a special school, as steeped in tradition and history as Eton, Harvard, or Oxford. For here children from all over Russia and the world are taken and turned into instruments of artistic and creative perfection...

One of those children was Luba Gulyeava, Artistic Director of the New Jersey State Vaganova Workshop.

Daily classes include; Vaganova ballet technique, pointe, variations, partnering, character and pilates/pilates reformer by Teri Furlano. Faculty: Tushen Bold, Teri Furlano, Luba Gulyaeva, Christine Taylor, and Vitale.

Auditions are required for acceptance into this program.

Tuition: $400.00 for 1 week $ 775.00 for 2 weeks.
Housing:$125.00 additional per week. Choice of hosting families.
Registration: $15.00

Special Needs:

Female Students: White leotard, pink tights, pink ballet slippers, pointe shoes, and
Character shoes.

Male Students: White T-shirt, black tights, white ballet slippers.
Character boots or jazz shoes.

All students:
Brown bag lunch. (Breakfast supplied)
Notebook and pencil.
